About Driver Safety

NY & Long Island Driver Safety Program

This program is approved by the New York State Department of Motor Vehicles and the Department of Insurance for insurance premium reduction and driver point reduction. This 6-Hour classroom course, taught by certified instructors, teaches defensive driving techniques, the role and responsibility of the driver, traffic laws and fuel conservation.

insurance Premium

All insurance companies are required by NY State Law to reduce your liability and collision premiums by not less then 10% upon completion of this course. The discount applies for 3 years to all vehicles for which you are the principal driver. Liability includes bodily injury protection. Upon completion of the course, a certificate will be mailed to you which can be presented to your insurance company.

Who is Eligible?

. All drivers are eligible for the 4-point reduction on their driving record.

. All principal vehicle operators are also eligible for the insurance reduction

. Discounts are in addition to driver education discounts for youthful drivers.

. No Tests.

4-Point Reduction
on Driving Record

For violations incurred during the 18 months prior to completing the course, up to 4 points will automatically be reduced on your driving record. This may avoid a license suspension or cancellation. However, it will not cancel any mandatory suspension (e.g. 3 speeding tickets) or action already taken against your license. The course may be taken every 18 months for point-reduction purposes.
